Export & Trade Compliance

Omega Engineering Tools complies with all applicable Indian export regulations, DGFT guidelines, and GST rules for cross-border trade. This page describes how we handle domestic and international orders in accordance with Indian law.

DGFT and export licensing

Our products — primarily RIDGID industrial pipe tools, drain cleaning equipment, and hand tools — are general-purpose industrial goods. Most do not require a special export licence under the Foreign Trade Policy (FTP) 2023. Where any item falls under the Special Chemicals, Organisms, Materials, Equipment and Technologies (SCOMET) list (Appendix 3, Schedule 2 of ITC-HS), the appropriate export authorisation will be obtained from the Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT) before dispatch.

SCOMET classification

We review each product against the SCOMET control list published by DGFT. Standard plumbing tools, wrenches, pipe threading machines, and drain cleaning equipment are not SCOMET-controlled items. If you are purchasing for a controlled application or end-use, please disclose this at the time of ordering so we can conduct an appropriate end-use assessment.

Sanctions and restricted parties

We comply with sanctions administered by the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) and the Government of India. We do not accept orders from entities listed on the UNSC Consolidated Sanctions List or under any sanction notified by the Ministry of External Affairs. All international orders are screened against applicable restricted-party lists before acceptance.

GST and customs on exports

Goods exported from India under a Letter of Undertaking (LUT) are zero-rated under the IGST Act. For international buyers, we provide all necessary export documentation including the Shipping Bill, Bill of Lading or Airway Bill, and a GST Export Invoice. Customs duties and import taxes at the destination country are the buyer's responsibility unless we have agreed DDP (Delivered Duty Paid) terms in writing.

Domestic trade compliance

All domestic sales comply with the Central Goods and Services Tax (CGST) Act, 2017 and the Integrated GST (IGST) Act, 2017. GST invoices with correct HSN codes are issued for every transaction. E-way bills are generated for inter-state consignments above the threshold value in accordance with Rule 138 of the CGST Rules.

End-use and re-export

Buyers purchasing for re-export or for an end-use different from ordinary industrial maintenance and construction must notify us before placing an order. Misrepresentation of end-use is a violation of Indian export control law and may result in order cancellation and reporting to regulatory authorities.
